Generic Food vs. Organic Food

Generic Food vs. Organic Food

Food choices reflect the overall health of an individual. Food contamination and quality is the most overlooked aspect of a human being's life. People tend to spend ludicrous amounts of money on their vices and display frugality when it comes to purchasing staples. Somehow a 1000 rupees pizza seems worthy of its price, but organic grains and produces seem relatively expensive. This mindset needs to change if you want your body to reach its maximum potential without encountering any life-threatening complications. The effects of consuming a product dense in artificial agents and preservatives are well known among people but they keep ignoring it anyway. I'll enunciate a few aspects in which organic food is the ultimate choice over natural foods.

Close to nature

Organic food incorporates the best that nature has to offer. If you consume organic food once, you will immediately notice the difference in taste and flavor density. It is cultivated without adding fillers or growth hormones that help the product to grow larger in a short time.

Health benefits

When you consume organic food daily, you get to relish the original flavors that are present in a food item. Organic foods avoid the use of an excessive pesticide that covers produce and does not wash off even after multiple rinse cycles. The generic food items are heavily laden with pesticides to prevent them from going bad and surviving the harsh weather conditions. Generic food is produced in large quantities but lacks the health benefits that you get from an organic source.

Health problems

Even doctors suggest patients switch to organic food choices and stick to them as long as they can. The risk of developing food-borne ailments, weakness, and stomach and intestinal ulcers of common with natural food sources. Heavy fertilizer use can irritate the lining of the stomach and intestine and can cause digestive issues, irritation of the stomach lining, bloating, and flatulence. Even if you do not have these ailments currently, it is a possibility is you keep consuming natural food. I find the phrase " prevention is better than cure" an apt fit in this context.

Avoid Pesticides

Pesticides are slow poison. You may not notice its effects at first, but it slowly eats up your body from within. The agriculture industry spends almost 15 billion on pesticides alone, which is a staggering 500 percent increase if you compare it with the pesticide usage in the 1960's. Generic foods are loaded with pesticides that are hard to shake off even after numerous stages of processing. Even if you wash your food like a fanatic the chances of removing pesticides are scanty. Since they are sprayed on the crops way before harvesting, they seep into the product and contaminate it. Pesticides are not absorbed by our body and are stored in our colon. It is the primary cause of colon cancer which is becoming common among humans of all age groups. I think these are enough reasons to switch from Generic Food to Organic Food.

Farm to table

Organic food has a low shelf life. It is because they are meant to be consumed as soon as they become ready for harvesting. Adding preservatives to organic produce defeats the very purpose of organic farming. The low shelf life of natural food is increased by adding preservatives that make it last more than a month. Organic food is never available in the off season. You would rarely find off-season organic produce in the market. This ensures that you consume food according to the season and as nature intends it for humans.

Where to find authentic organic food?

Generic food is labelled organic to increase sales. It becomes increasingly difficult to find organic food in and around the city. I would suggest you visit a property that practices secluded living away from the commotion of the city.

These private townships promote estate living which is a form of #community living and a way of life that includes modern amenities and using natural resources for an ideal living. They have an extensive organic food farming community that produces and creates food items based on them. The tranquillity of the surroundings of a private township will calm your soul and the food will rejuvenate your body from within.

#BlueUmbrella,

 Dune Wellness,

Auroville

Kalmatia etc are a few viable alternatives that provide you clean air, calming surroundings, and a glimpse into organic farming, all under one shade.
